Life Happens. Just. Keep. Dancing.
Dancing With Deanna offers country line dancing instruction for both beginners and experienced dancers alike, and every class can be customized to an appropriate level for audiences from children to seniors. Country line dancing with a group instructor is a great way to get your crowd onto the dance floor at birthday or anniversary parties or any event where country music will be played. Country line dancing requires no partners, so you can get dancers with unwilling spouses/dates out of their seats.
Instruction can be provided for groups as a block of multiple classes or single events such as parties or fundraisers. Dancing With Deanna primarily focuses on Suffolk County Long Island, but can provide instruction in neighboring areas based on availability.
Deanna's Bio
Deanna has been a dancer all of her life with a background in jazz, ballet, modern, lyrical, jitterbug/swing, ballroom and country line dancing. She was born and raised on Long Island, and after earning her degree in communication from La Salle University in Philadelphia she began instructing country line and ballroom classes in the Philadelphia suburbs while being mentored by Carolyn Rollin of Carolyn and Company Dance Productions. Deanna later performed as an apprentice with the ContempraDANCE Theatre Company in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
After moving back to her hometown on the North Shore of Long Island a few years ago, some local friends requested Deanna teach a country line dancing class so they could give it a try before heading out in public to dance. Soon Deanna began teaching again at both public community classes and private events, building the confidence of her students and providing a good time for all.
Although Deanna has been a dancer all of her life, she began her teaching career with intensive training and mentoring which is evident to those that keep returning to her classes. Deanna has over ten years of experience as a dance instructor with a concentration on Country Line Dancing for the last nine years. She has an uncanny ability to break down dances into easy to learn segments for her new students. As an experienced instructor, Deanna can pinpoint areas where beginner students may have trouble and teach techniques to overcome challenges which leads to success and confidence!
In addition to her dance experience, Deanna holds a BA in Communication and a MS in Holistic Nutrition. She has over 15 years of business experience working in Human Resources and IT Recruitment. Deanna has been Chapter Coordinator for the non-profit, TACA (The Autism Community in Action) since 2011 organizing events, mentoring families and overseeing fundraising efforts.
Deanna is also the founder, director and choreographer for a new venture known as Line Dance For Good, a performance group dedicated to using the art of dance for good. Whether it's connecting with the community, finding camaraderie with fellow dancers, lifting the energy of a location or raising money for a cause the group will be using their talents and fun spirit to make the world a better place through the art of dance. Hope to see you on the dance floor!
